Silvis, Illinois Jerry L. Bewley, age 55, of Silvis, Illinois, died, Thursday, March 6, 2003 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:30 AM in Trimble Funeral Home Coal Valley, Illinois, with the Reverend Tim Snart officiating. Visitation will held from 10:30 to 11:30 AM prior to the service. Private Burial will be in Chapel Grove Cemetery, Taylor Ridge, Illinois. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established. Jerry Lee Bewley was born March 17, 1947 in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of William A. and Louise M. (Miller) Bewley. Jerry was drafted into the U.S. Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. He was employed in the shop at the John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline, Illinois retiring in 1996 after 31 years. He had recently been employed at Automotive Paint and Equipment in Rock Island. Jerry was a member of the Eagle Lodge, was a former member of the American Legion, and was an avid NASCAR fan. Survivors include his mother, Louise of Coal Valley; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Aubrey Anthony of Rock Island; nephew, William and Melinda Carothers of Silvis; two nieces, Kimberley Anthony and Tammy Benton both of Myrtle Beach, North Carolina; four uncles, Ivan Anderson of Reynolds, Illinois, Robert and Holly Miller of Milan, Illinois, Jim Bewley of Glassco, Kentucky, and Leo and Mable Bewley of Indianapolis, Indiana; two aunts, Bessie Duncan of Milan, Illinois and Christine Baker of Decatur, Illinois; along with numerous cousins and extended family members.
