Jerry Lee Ballard

Jerry Lee Ballard, 55, of Davenport, Iowa, died Monday, June 3, 2024, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Bettendorf.

A gathering to celebrate Jerry’s life will be announced in the near future.   Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home.

Jerry was born April 22, 1969, in Polaski, Illinois, the son of Rolland Cherry and Mary Ballard.  He married Katrina Johnson on April 22, 2001, in Louisiana, Missouri.

Jerry had many skills and careers throughout his life.  In addition to being self-employed, he worked various jobs ranging from being a CNA to a CNC and forklift operator.

He was a member of Greater Antioch Baptist Church, Rock Island.  He enjoyed cars and riding around, cooking, and was an avid Chicago Bears’ fan.  Above all else, family was the most important thing to Jerry, especially his beloved children and grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Katrina; five children, Jerry (Donneshia White) Bomar of Davenport, Tyronda Harrison of Flint, Michigan, Tierre (Avionna Lewis-Tot) Johnson of Moline, Tyrese (Kayla Wiseman) Ballard of Davenport, and Omarion Ballard of Davenport; nine grandchildren; and a brother, Rolland Cherry of Rock Island.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Rolland Cherry and Mary Richardson; a granddaughter; and siblings, George Cherry, Roy Lee Richardson, and Charlon Johnnson.
