Jeri L. Nelson, 64, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, February 4, 2013, in Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Moline, with The Reverend Larry Conway officiating. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Memorials may be made to Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa.
The former Jeri Lee Wells, the daughter of Harold and Hazel Lawson Wells, was born May 30, 1948, in Moline. She graduated from Moline High School in 1966. She married David L. Nelson on August 3, 1985, in Moline. She was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal for 35 years, and was currently Secretary in the Army Contracting Command at Rock Island. She lived for her kids, loved to entertain and attend craft fairs, and enjoyed reading.
Jeri is survived by her husband, David; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Sarah Efflandt of Dubuque, Brian and Mary Efflandt of Geneseo, Illinois, and Jonathan Nelson of Washington, Illinois; five grandchildren, Austin, Isabella, Kaleb, Ruby, and Kieran Efflandt; her father, Harold Wells of Moline; and siblings, Marilyn Branson of Rock Island, Patty Sigmon of Medford, Oregon, Susie King of DeWitt, Iowa, and John Wells of Charlotte, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her mother and sister, Linda Harris.
