Jeremiah D. "J.D." Sims

Jeremiah D. “J.D.” Sims, 39, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Sunday, November 1 2020, in his home.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home.

Jeremiah David Sims was born May 20, 1981, in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Johnnie David and Judi (Spires) Sims. He graduated from Moravia High School in Moravia, Iowa. He married Wendy Carnes on October 31, 2008, in Ottumwa, Iowa, and the couple had three children before divorcing.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, and Jack Daniels. He was an ordained minister and an avid Oakland (now Las Vegas) Raiders fan. In his younger years, he loved roller skating with his siblings. Above all else, family is the most important thing to J.D., especially his children.

J.D. is survived by his beloved children, Quenton Sims, Jaedyn Sims, Kaven Harwood (his by choice), and later in life, Liam and Elijah; his parents, Judi Sims-Snow of DeWitt, Iowa, and Johnnie (Waneta Woods) Sims of Atlantic, Iowa; siblings, Jessica (Billy) Miller, and her children, Kyle Rigsby, Billy Miller Jr., Benjamin Miller, and Jude Miller, Jennifer (Tim) Lange, and her children, Zoey McDonald, Gavin McDonald, and Sebastian Lange, Ryan (Dani) Sims, and his children, Mackynna and Rhett, Freedom (Nathan Wanders) Sims, and her children, Camden and Gauge Sims, and Harleigh Wanders; and Johnnie (Caitlyn) Sims, and his son, Johnnie Sims III.
