Jerald W Finley, 68, of Westcliffe, Colorado, formally of Moline, Illinois, passed away on May 15, 2014, at his home in Colorado.
Graveside services are 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 25, in Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should meet at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, 601 21st Street, Moline, at 12:45 p.m. A gathering will be held at the McGeHee Center at Schadt Park, 12th street and 4th Avenue, in Silvis, following the service.
Mr. Finley was born on Oct. 6, 1945, in Dallas, Texas to James Edward and Ruth Marie (Nicholson) Finley.
Jerry served in the United States Air force for four years as an aerial photographer and was a Vietnam combat Veteran.
He loved the mountains in Colorado and had a beautiful view from his home in Westcliffe, where he has spent the last 20 plus years.
He enjoyed his four cats, photography, fixing cars and his friends and family.
He had been married to Marcia Anderson Finley Estes, the mother of his children. They later divorced.
Jerry had been a member of Elim Covenant Church in Moline, and worked with the Vietnam Veterans Agent Orange Registry.
Jerry is survived by two children, Eric (Kristine) Finley of Moline, and Jennifer (Larry) Krambeck of Silvis; two younger brothers, David (Nancy) Finley of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Daniel (Jackie) Finley of Verona, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Andrew Snyder, Evan and Emily; and a great-granddaughter, Aurora. He was preceded in death by his father, James, on Feb. 27, 2005, and by his mother, Ruth, on May 3, 2014, just days before his own death.
