Jeffrey P. Thomas, 60, well-known Moline barber, died Thursday, July 9, 2015, in UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois.

Services are 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Visitation is 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established. Jeff's family will greet friends at a hospitality gathering at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe following the burial.

Jeffrey Paul Thomas was born October 4, 1954, in Sterling, Illinois, to John William and Joy Eileen (Meyer) Thomas. He graduated from Lincoln Barber College, East Moline, in 1973, two days after graduating from Moline High School. He married Diane Louise Miller on June 20, 1981, in Moline. After serving his apprenticeship in Sterling, Jeff came to work for Harley Hancock at the All Service Barber Shop in downtown Moline in 1975. He bought the shop in 1995, and operated it until cancer forced him to close it earlier this year.

Jeff was a devoted, kind, and loving family man, who didn't have a mean bone in his body. He loved spending time with his special granddaughter, Olivia, and loved cheering his brothers during the Firecracker Run and the Quad City Marathon. Jeff was a patriot, who loved the flag, his country, and the military, and was a big supporter of local law enforcement. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks, and Illini, and enjoyed golf, bowling, pics, frogs, and parades. Jeff was an long time member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2007, and was past president and board member in Moline, East Moline, and Carbon Cliff.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Diane; three children, Jennifer Savoie of Eldridge, Iowa, Jessica Thomas of Silvis, and John Thomas of Moline; four grandchildren, Olivia, Gabriel, Sabastian, and Matthew; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Cathy Thomas of Coal Valley, Jon and Rebecca Thomas of Essex, Wisconsin, Joel and Patti Thomas of Edgington, and Jamie and Amber Thomas of Orion; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two step-fathers, James Thorpe and Charles Haub; and two nephews and a niece, JT, Lee, and Ally Thomas.
