Jeffrey L. Mix

Jeffrey L. Mix, 63, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Winning Wheels Care Center, Prophetstown, Illinois.

Services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 17, at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley, with The Rev. Michael Kindred officiating.  Visitation is one hour prior to services.  Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery.  Memorials may be made the family for a fund to be established in Jeff’s memory.

Jeffrey Lynn Mix was born September 24, 1959, in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of William and Marilyn Jean (Armstrong) Mix.  He graduated from Moline High School and worked in construction for many years.

He was a member of 15^th Avenue Christian Church, Rock Island.  He enjoyed motorcycles, especially riding with his friends.  He also loved music, making and fixing things, and spending time with his family.  Jeff was a people person who was truly loved by others.

Jeff is survived by his beloved mother, Marilyn Mix, of Coal Valley; two brothers, Michael (Kenya) Mix of Davenport, Iowa, and Steven Mix of Milan, Illinois; his uncle, Russell (Marilyn) Armstrong of Henderson, Nevada; his aunt, Lucy Armstrong of Moline; and step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, William Mix; his grandparents, Herbert and Helen Armstrong, and Julius and Edith Mix; and an uncle, Charles Armstrong.

The family would like to give special thanks to everyone who took such good care of Jeff, including the staff at Winning Wheels, Vitas Hospice, and everyone involved in Jeff’s two transplants that truly gave Jeff new life.
