Jeffrey L. Neitzel, 49, of Davenport, Iowa, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois.
Services are 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 13, 2021, at Mighty Fortress Community Church, 4605 3rd Street, Moline, with The Rev. Tom Schillinger officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Cremation took place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.
Jeffrey Lynn was born December 21, 1971, in Marengo, Iowa, the son of Richard Lee and Bonnie Lou (Morton) Neitzel. He was raised in Marengo and as a toddler moved to the Davenport area.
In 1990, he graduated from Davenport North High School and from there he went to California to Huntington Beach to start his next education. He then went on to Scott Community College to get his associate degree of Arts. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree at St. Ambrose University.
He loved his BMX bikes and jumping ramp along with trick riding. He also enjoyed Judo as a young adult. It was then on to body building. He continued his workouts until his health would not allow it. He loved hockey and football.
Jeff enjoyed his mastino breed of dogs, Biagio was so special to him, as was his little dog, Bella. He also loved nice race cars (Corvettes) and nice motorcycles along with his signature Robert Graham shirts.
He will be missed by his family: wife, Elga; daughters, Gabrielle and Ava; mother and step-father, Bonnie and John Morton; granddaughter, Viola; grandmother, Evelyn Neitzel; mother and father-in-law, Helena and Ininu Cardoso; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; along with many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard in 1982; his brother, Kevin in 2017; and his grandparents, Betty Lou and Earl Kluber, and Marlin Neitzel.
