Jeffrey Dallas Taylor was born December 7, 1956, in Hannibal, Missouri, the son of Gordon Ray and Virginia Mae (Ledbetter) Taylor. He married Kari Kephart on February 14, 1979, in Moline.
Jeff worked at Olive Garden in Davenport, and considered his co-workers to be a second family. Previously, he was a landscaper, volunteered as an EMT for the Coal Valley Fire Department, and was a semi driver.
He enjoyed being outdoors whether it be fishing or walking his beloved dog, Nora Lee. He was also an adventurous man who liked ziplining and went skydiving two times. He was an extremely laid-back, fun-loving man who got along with everyone he met, was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers fan, and loved cards, especially euchre.
Above all else, family was the most important thing to Jeff. His wife, Kari, was his soulmate for over 40 years, as well as his bowling partner for many years. He loved his girls and would do anything for them, and was the proudest "Papa" in the world to his eight grandchildren.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Kari; three daughters, Jesika (Christopher) Graeber, and Jenika (Ray Ray) Overton, all of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and Jerika (Steve Perkins) Taylor of Davenport; eight grandchildren, Taylor, Bailee and Owen Graeber, Amery, Ayden, Arwyn and Abner Overton, and Wesley Taylor Perkins; a brother, Garry Taylor (Marsha Murphy); sisters-in-law, Kim Taylor and Cathy Taylor; a niece, Angella Taylor, and her children, Preston and Alexis; nephews, Eric Taylor, and his daughter, Payton, Zeke Taylor, and Mitch (Jessie) Taylor; a cousin, Ray, who taught Jeff how to drive; and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kelly Taylor.
The family would like to give special thanks to everyone at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for their wonderful care, and Jeff's co-workers and friends for their support and friendship.
