Martha Jean Rash, 77, of Sun City, Arizona, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, October 2, 2010, in Banner Boswell Hospital, Sun City.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Riverside United Methodist Church, Moline, with The Rev. Dr. Donald Jackson officiating. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Memorials may be made to the church.
The former Martha Jean Hedgcock was born September 16, 1933, in Colusa, Illinois, the daughter of Bruce L. and Martha Kendall Hedgcock. She married Harry Rash on July 24, 1953, in Berkeley, California. He died June 17, 1990. She was an underwriting clerk for John Deere Insurance Company for 17 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church, Moline, and Quad City Insurance Association.
Jean is survived by four children and their spouses, Joni and Charles Olmstead of Seattle, Washington, Lori and Kelan Manning of Dubuque, Iowa, Bruce and Martha Rash of Plainfield, Illinois, and Joy Bergstrand of Atlanta, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joan Anderson of Coal Valley, Illinois, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, David Hedgcock.
