Jean M. Loose

Jean M. Loose, 85, of Silvis, Illinois, died Monday, December 6, 2021, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 13, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with The Rev. Ed Kuriscak officiating. Visitation is 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or any cancer research charity.

Jean was born May 31, 1936, in Moline, to Earl and Alyce (Lyness) Hoglund. She married Leon D. Loose on September 9, 1962 at First Christian Church, Moline, where she was a longtime member. She belonged to Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island.

Jean attended Eureka college, joining the Delta Zeta sorority in 1955. She worked at Modern Woodmen, Rock Island, Petersen, Harned von Maur, Moline, and retired from Younkers, Moline. Jean enjoyed the finer things in life. She was known to spend a nickel or two on the casino boat. She was an avid traveler going on adventures like riding in helicopters and white water rafting. She liked to attend church, play cards with her lifelong friends (you know who you are), and most of all spend time with her family. She had major FOMO, and I'm sure she's pissed she isn't here - we are too.

Survivors include her husband, Leon; children, Christine Loose, Santa Cruz, California, Bryan Loose, Counce, Tennessee, Catherine Loose, Savannah, Georgia, and Bonnie (Ryan) Moore, Bettendorf; grandchildren, Kailey (Poncho Hare) Fluegel, Bettendorf, Autumn Loose, Los Angeles, California, Samantha Loose, Lawrence, Kansas, and Benjamin Moore, Bettendorf; great-granddaughter, Emma Hare; sister-in-law, Joyce Anderson, Moline, and several special nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.
