Jean L. Biorn

Jean L. Biorn, 94, of Moline, Illinois, and Fort Myers Beach, Florida, died Friday, January 11, 2019, at Seasons of Life Hospice Home, Minocqua, Wisconsin.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline, with The Rev. Peter Bredlau officiating. Entombment is in Moline Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Memorials may be made to HYF- Dr. Kate Hospice, P.O. Box 770 Woodruff, WI 54568.

The former Jean Louise Geren was born November 1, 1924, in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Deane and Helen (Hartman) Geren. She married Luverne Norman Biorn on March 21, 1943, in Burlington. Together with her husband and Jerome Soukup, she owned and operated Modern Heating and Sheet Metal in East Moline. Luverne died September 16, 2005.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 60 years and served as Illinois Grand Deputy for the International Order of Rainbow for Girls for 12 years. She enjoyed playing bridge, bingo, crossword puzzles, reading biographies and autobiographies, and traveling. She was a devoted wife of 62 years and a loving mother to her three daughters.

Jean is survived by three daughters, Karen (Bruce) Chidester of Denton, Texas, Lucia (Allen) Bofinger of Lockport, Illinois, and Randi (John) Danner of Minocqua; grandchildren, Scott (Cindy) Chidester and Kari (Matt) Kunkle, both of Corinth, Texas, David Chidester of Melissa, Texas, Todd (Anna) Bofinger of Shoreview, Minnesota, Troy (Erin) Bofinger of Chicago, Illinois, Stacey (Jason) Starke of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Tricia (Jeremy) Wagner of Belle Plaine, Minnesota, and Melissa (Justin) Ver Velde of Kronenwetter, Wisconsin; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Roth of Davenport, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Kay Maupin.
