Jayne L. Sherry

Jayne L. Sherry, 62, of Davenport, Iowa, died Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at home.

Services to celebrate Jayne’s life will be announced at a later date. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

Jayne Louise Sherry was born September 5, 1961, in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Sherry. She married Ronny Gibbs, with whom she had two children. 

She was a talented chef at various places in the Quad Cities, including the Diocese of Davenport and Genesis Medical Center. She enjoyed crafting, cooking, and reading. She also loved shopping, going to the farmer’s market, and keeping in touch with friends on Facebook. 

Above all else, family was the most important thing to Jayne, especially her beloved children and grandson. She had a great sense of humor and her kids will always remember being woken up for school to their mom blasting Bob Dylan music.

Jayne is survived by her two children, Emily (Tyler Heather) Gibbs of Davenport, and Carter Gibbs of Davenport; her grandson, Ethan Heather; siblings, Anne (Steve) Towner and Charles (Ann Marie) Sherry; her caregiver and friend, Karen Kuehl of Davenport; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
