A gathering to celebrate Janie’s memory will be 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, September 14, at Harmany Hall Event Center, 1510 47th Avenue, Moline.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Dress for Success Quad Cities and Quad City Animal Welfare Center, organizations that reflect Janie's commitment to supporting and uplifting those in need.
Born on September 8, 1971, Janie was a beacon of warmth and joy throughout her life. She was the cherished daughter of Patsy DePaz and Michael Nesbitt. Janie's early years were filled with laughter and adventure alongside her siblings, Jenie, Natasha, and Ramon. Her childhood was marked by a close-knit circle of friends and countless memorable moments, many of which revolved around her spirited and fun-loving nature.
Janie’s career was as vibrant as her personality. She was the proud owner and founder of Janie’s Riverview Cafe in Buffalo, Iowa, where she created a welcoming space for her community. Prior to that, she dedicated 20 years to Seafords Clothing Co., where her charm and dedication made a lasting impression. Her love for exploring yard sales, thrifting, and gifting special items was a testament to her thoughtful and generous spirit. She also found great joy in making those around her laugh, and her unique sense of humor will be deeply missed.
Janie is survived by her devoted husband, Joey Angusich; her children, Donte (Nathan) Jochum-Nesbitt, Teya Nesbitt, and Adilene Hernandez-Nesbitt; her mother, Patsy DePaz; her father and stepmother, Michael and Corina Nesbitt; her siblings, Jenie Nesbitt, Natasha (Erik Rogers) DelaPaz-Rogers, and Ramon (Michelle) Ramirez; her adored nieces and nephews; her faithful dog, Riz; and a wide network of close friends and community members who were touched by her kindness and laughter. Janie is preceded in death by her sister, Brandi Jo Nesbitt.
Janie's vibrant spirit and loving heart will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
