Janice R. Lanman, 60, of Moline, died Sunday, July 24, 2005, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Janice Griffith officiating. Burial is in National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Riverside United Methodist Church or to the family.
The former Janice Rae Hansen was born November 20, 1944, in Morris, Illinois, the daughter of Magnus and Ethel (Johnson) Hansen. She married Keith Leon Lanman on May 30, 1969, in Morris. He died February 25, 2002. Janice was an accountant for Teske Pet and Garden Center, Moline, for the past 20 years, retiring earlier this year due to her health.
She was an active member of Riverside United Methodist Church, Moline, where she was a member of United Methodist Women, enjoyed keeping score for the Methodist Women Softball Team, was a counselor at the church?s Off Campus Program, and taught the Sunday school program, World of Jesus and Friends. She loved crocheting, doing crafts, gardening, and spending time with her children and grandchildren, and she enjoyed all types of music.
Janice is survived by five children and their spouses, Kassie Chronister of Morris, Illinois, Karl and Lisa Chronister of New Braunfels, Texas, Kimberly and Jason Pritchard of Las Vegas, Karmen and Chris Wold of Moline, and Kitty Lanman and her fiancé, Robert D. Walker III, of Moline; five grandchildren, John Hartley, Justin Chronister, Chelsea Chronister, Tyler Moore, and Ashley McAdam; and a sister, Judy Heck of Seneca, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a brother, Glenn A. Hansen.
