Janice L. Mccune

Janice L. McCune, 79, of Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, May 28, 2011, in her home.

Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Congregational Church, Moline, with The Reverend Jackie Perry officiating. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Memorials may be made to the church.

The former Janice Louise Bergstedt was born February 11, 1932, in Moline, the daughter of Russell and Cleone Lindbergh Bergstedt. She graduated from Moline High School. She married Allyn McCune on April 8, 1967, in Moline. She worked in accounting for Deere and Company for 15 years, retiring as Coordinator of Corporate Paper in 1982.

She was an active member of First Congregational Church, Moline, where she participated in the prayer group, visited and cared for elderly persons, and tutored children with reading. She enjoyed playing bridge.

Janice is survived by her husband, Allyn; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark E. and Janan M. Hoke of Barrington, Illinois; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Donald Maeder of Sun Lakes, Arizona; sisters-in-law, Janet Hemmingson of East Moline, and Cheryl Dralle of Geneseo, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James Malcolm Hoke; and a brother, Donald Bergstedt.
