Janice Filkins

Janice A. Filkins, 83, of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at home.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home, with services in Chicago at a later date. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Chicago.

The former Janice Annette Szurgot was born November 5, 1932, in Chicago, the daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Brezinski) Szurgot. She was the cherished wife of the late Christopher Filkins. She was the beloved mother of Robert (Sandra) Magdars of Orem, Utah, and Susan (Mike) Damitz of Las Vegas, Nevada; She was also the loving sister of two siblings, Sandra (Gene) Pollastrini of Bolingbrook, Illinois, and Robert Szurgot (Ann Weisman) of Chicago, and the aunt and great-aunt of many.

She worked in the lab at Culligan International Company in Northbrook, Illinois for many years.
