Janet S. Sexton, 68, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, October 7, 2019, at her home with her husband by her side.

Private burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, Illinois. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home.

The former Janet Sue Rhodes was born April 18, 1951, in Springfield, the daughter of Gordon and Betty (Wolfe) Rhodes. She married William Sexton on February 22, 1997, in Springfield.

Janet was a lifelong member of the DAV Auxiliary in Springfield, and the Shadow Riders of America. She enjoyed computer games, crafting, and watching western movies and NCIS. One of her favorite things to do was go the Hy-Vee on John Deere Road to visit her "kids" at the store.

She is survived by her beloved husband, William; her son, Frederic (Sonja Sizemore) Smith of Moline; step-son, William (Susan) Sexton of Galesburg, Illinois; grandchildren, Christopher Jackson, Jeffrey Bailey, and Randilynn, Amelia, and Freddy Smith; step-grandchildren, James and Owen Sexton, John Sizemore, and Rachel Wimmer; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Billy Rhodes, Sally Rhodes-Hickman, and Larry Rhodes; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and one brother.
