Janet I. Bowman

Janet I. Bowman, 66, of Asheville, North Carolina, formerly of Moline, Illinois, and Naples, Florida, died peacefully at her home and is now in the hands of the LORD. She went to be with the LORD on Wednesday, November 15, 2006, following a long battle with cancer.
Graveside Services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, at Foster Cemetery in Fairview, Illinois. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Memorial services will be held in Asheville, North Carolina and Naples, Florida, at later dates.
The former Janet Iva Swigert was born April 26, 1940, in Canton, Illinois, the daughter of Leonard and Leah (Elliott) Swigert. She married John Earl Bowman on June 14, 1959, in Farmington, Illinois.
Jan and her husband enjoyed bicycle riding, photography, traveling in their motor home, and volunteering.
Jan is survived by her husband, John; her mother, Leah Swigert of Clinton, Iowa; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Denise Bowman of Mars Hills, North Carolina; a daughter, Leigh Bowman of Bettendorf, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Kayla VanWassenhove Bowman of Rapid City, Illinois; five Grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Saundra and Larry Bengston of Clinton, Iowa; and a brother and sister-in-law, William and Nancy Swigert of Grand Rapids, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her father, and a son, Terry Bowman.
