The former Patricia Jane Logan was born December 12, 1924, in Dallas City, Illinois, the daughter of Albert Ursal and Reva (Scott) Logan. She married Glen A. Hallquist on June 6, 1948, in Moline. She graduated from Moline High School in 1943, where she was the American Legion Award winner. She graduated from Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing in 1946, and started her nursing career with Dr. Lewis D. Barding in East Moline. She was employed for many years at Moline Public Hospital, both as a nurse and in Medical Records. She later worked as an office nurse for Dr. Ralph Ade, Dr. William Rose, Dr. John Davies, and Dr. John Oppenheimer, retiring in 1987.
Jane was a 70 year member of First (now Riverside) United Methodist Church, serving on numerous committees. She and her husband, Glen, were UMYF counselors for many years and enjoyed being part of the visitation group called ?The Flock?. She was also a member of United Methodist Women, currently in the April/May Circle. In years past, Jane was an active member of the Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association and was given the Life Member Award from PTA. After retiring, Jane took great pleasure in being with her friends from Grant School, her monthly luncheon with the retired nurses, as well as her many card club groups.
Jane is survived by her husband of 60 years, Glen; her children and their spouses, Lindy and John Steeves of Clarendon Hills, Illinois, Laurie and Dale Spriet of Moline, and Tim and Linda Hallquist of Hartland, Wisconsin; and her five grandchildren of whom she was very proud, Kelly Howes and her husband Mike, Scott Hallquist, Andy Spriet, Molly VanDeWege and her husband Jimmy, and Mike Hallquist and his fiancée Amanda Faile.
Jane?s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the gentle and devoted health care workers at Heartland Health Care Center and to Dr. Reynaldo Castro for his faithful care.
