James L. Buckley, 66, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Saturday, April 14, 2012, in his residence.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday.
James Lee Buckley was born February 15, 1946, in Moline, to Charles and Betty Butterfield Buckley. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War, and married M. Devon Chidester on April 20, 1980, in Rock Island. He was an over-the road truck driver for 35 years,
Jim is survived by his wife, Devon; children and spouses, Brandie and Mike Handley and Charles and Kayla Buckley, all of Davenport, Iowa; six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alexis and Mark Handley, Allen Little, and Jasmine and Sonya Buckley; his sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Vince Mrstik of Santa Barbara, California, and a good friend and compatriot, Bill Jensen of Milan, Illinois.
