James Horst

James A. Horst, 76, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Tuesday, August 20, 2019, in Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Private burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. All friends and neighbors are invited to a celebration of his life at Biaggi's on Saturday, September 14, from 1 to 3 p.m. Memorials may be made to King's Harvest Pet Rescue.

James Allen Hosrt was bornJanuary 5, 1943, in Hustisford, Wisconsin, to Wesley and Elda (Goltz) Horst. He was a proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin in 1966, and served in the US Army from 1966 to 1970. He was sales manager at Owens Steel, retiring in 2002. He loved playing the piano and smoking fine cigars.

Survivors include his partner, Patti Camasse and his beloved dog, Carbs.
