James Leroy Emmett, 75, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away November 6, 2024, at Bettendorf Health Care Center in his sleep from a sudden onset "acute" illness.
He was born in Iowa City, Iowa, and grew up in foster care, eventually moving to Davenport, Iowa.
He took pride working at John's Towing Inc. for many many years in building / lot maintenance.
James enjoyed bowling over the years, taking long rides with Todd to deliver or pick up various vehicles for transport, playing video games at home and card games with his foster brothers and their families at Thanksgiving and Christmas. He liked to go on long hauls and take in all the different scenery.
James is survived by his friend and caretaker, Todd (Patricia) Huebbe; foster brothers,
Kenneth Williams, Steven Kane, Richard Kane, and John Weedon; nieces and nephews; along with many other close friends.
He is proceeded in death by his parents.
