James K. Darin

James K. Darin, 70, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, February 5, 2024, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.  Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo, Illinois.  

James Kenneth Darin was born January 10, 1954, in Geneseo, Illinois, the son of Kenneth and Rose (Nitz) Darin.  He was a journeyman electrician for IBEW for over 22 years.  

He enjoyed gambling, music and traveling.  He was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan.  

Jim is survived by three children, Jennifer Jacobs of Moline, Justin (Catherine) Darin of Apollo Beach, Florida, and Alex Darin of Moline; grandchildren, Dylan (Jamii) Barton, Madison Jacobs, Alexander Jones, Kingston Jones, and Thomas Darin; four siblings, Jan (Greg) Wolf, Michael (Michelle) Darin, Sandy (Pat) Hill, and John (Kim) Darin; and a niece who was raised as a sister, Jacqueline (Justin) Caldwell; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Linda Darin.
