Scott Wolking, 45, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, Illinois, from injuries received in an automobile accident Wednesday morning on Route 6 in Henry County.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.
Scott Joel Wolking was born May 27, 1963, in Rock Island, the son of Robert E. Lee Minch and Yvonne Hanmer Minch. He was later adopted by Jerry Wolking. He graduated from Moline High School, and had been married to Tammy Sardez. He was a CNC Machinist at Armalite, Geneseo, for the past three years, and previously worked at BMS Manufacturing in Milan.
Scott had many hobbies. He enjoyed camping, fishing and the outdoors, motorcycling, blues music, working on cars, and especially loved his work and his dogs.
Scott is survived by his mother, Yvonne Wolking of Moline; two daughters, Nicole York of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Danielle Wolking of Coal Valley; two grandchildren, Joey York and Kaylin Kirkpatrick; a brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Rosemary Minch of Moline; a nephew, Ryan Minch; a niece, Devon Renee Minch; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Minch; his adopted father, Jerry Wolking, who has been missing for 18 years; a granddaughter, Brianna York, and a brother, Monty Minch.
