Nora Underwood Wilson, 97, formerly of East Moline, Illinois, died Friday, September 23, 2011, in McLean County Nursing Home, Normal, Illinois.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial is in Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Christian Family Services.
The former Nora Mae Roach was born November 6, 1913, in Cambridge, Illinois, the daughter of Asa and Ella (Perry) Roach. She married Glenn Underwood in 1931 in Cambridge. He died in 1970. She married Wilber Wilson in 1973 in Davenport, Iowa. He died in 1977.
Nora was a house mother for Arrowhead Ranch in Coal Valley for 11 years, retiring in 1973. She was a former member of Clover Chapel in Woodhull, Illinois. She enjoyed helping others.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Merle Underwood of Normal, Illinois, eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands; sons, Donald and Melvin Underwood; brothers, Isaac and John Roach; and sisters, Leota Lundquist and Violet Stephenson.
