Isaiah Thomas, 59, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, May 7, 2018, in his home.
Services are 12 Noon on Tuesday, May 15, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with visitation one-hour prior. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Friends are invited to join the family at a funeral luncheon at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe following the burial.
Ike was born July 6, 1958, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. His parents were Garland and Esther Thomas Fonville. He graduated from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff with a degree in Engineering and earned special degrees from the Army Staff College. He married Harriet Nickerson Bandy on January 22, 1994, in East Moline. He worked for the Rock Island Arsenal for 32 years, retiring in 2011. He had been affiliated with Greater Antioch Baptist Church, was an excellent cook who was famous for his pizza, enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and golf, and especially liked playing bid whist and arguing with his buddies. He was very proud of his close-knit blended family.
Ike is survived by his wife, Harriet; five children, Carlos Buchanan, Pamela Thomas and her fiancée Dre Walrup, Christopher Thomas and his partner Keila, Katrel Wilson and her husband James, and Adrian Bandy; six grandchildren, Kiah, Malique, Rashawn, Bernard, Max, and Ace; siblings, Linda Kaye, Brenda Faye, Roberta, Janis, Jeanette, and Gwenetta; and a special aunt, Rosetta Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Tiffany, and brothers, Major and Jesse.
