Moline, Illinois Inez L. George, 87, of Moline, died Friday, December 17, 2004, in Morrison Community Hospital, Morrison, Illinois. Services are 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Moline, with The Reverend Dan Cole officiating. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Memorials may be made to the church. The former Inez Lorraine Martens was born March 30, 1917, in Fulton, Illinois, the daughter of Bernie and Gertrude (Wilkens) Martens. She married Clarence D. George on June 17, 1939, in Fulton. He died November 9, 1994. She was employed in the General Office at the Clock Tower on Arsenal Island during WW II. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Moline, belonged to Lend-a-Hand Circle of Kings Daughters, and was a former member of the Cordova, Illinois, American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, reading, music and playing the piano. Inez is survived by three nephews, Michael Housenga and his wife Kathy, and Larry Housenga and his friend, Sue Kennedy, all of Fulton, and Richard Sawyer and his wife Fran and a sister-in-law, Margaret Sawyer and her husband Paul, all of Morrison, Illinois, and many great-nieces and great-nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a sister, Vivian Housenga, and a brother, Bernard Martens.
