Howard L. Davis, 84, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014, in St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Rock Island.
Services are 1 p.m. Friday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
Howard Lester Davis was born January 27, 1930, in Geneseo, Illinois, to Lester and Cleda Clodfelder Davis. He married Phyllis Tyrrell on December 14, 1956, in East Moline, Illinois. He was a grinder at John Deere Foundry for 30 years, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Howard is survived by his wife, Phyllis; children and spouses, Wayne and Barb Tyrrell of Florida, Deborah and Rich Parkinson of Rock Island, Kathy and Bob Hook of Coal Valley, Illinois, William and Starla Davis of Virginia, Kent Davis of Rock Island, and Kurt Davis of Rock Island; 17 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
