Herschel Jackson

Herschel Jackson, 77, of Rock Island, Illinois, formerly of Boonville, Missouri, died Thursday, September 15, 2016, at St. Anthony's, Rock Island.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of the Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

He was born October 21, 1938, in Boonville, the son of Virgil and Millie (Quint) Jackson. He worked most recently for the City of Boonville.

Herschel enjoyed listening to blues and gospel music, and watching monster movies, westerns, and classic comedies like The Three Stooges and Abbott & Costello.

He is survived nieces and nephews, Annetta Daniels, Diane Pendergrass, Roberta Stegall, and William Jackson, all of Rock Island, Pam Tatum of East Moline, Mark Jackson of Rock Island, Doreen Jackson of Moline, Bridget Givens of Kansas City, Missouri, and Brook Givens and Bruce Jackson, both of Raytown, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, William, Jesse, and Milton Jackson, and a nephew, Paul Jackson.
