Helen V. Johnson

Helen V. Johnson, 91, formerly of Moline, died Friday, December 17, 2004, in Florida Living Nursing Center, Apopka, Florida. Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend A. Parker Lewis III officiating. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to Hope United Church of Christ, Moline, where she was a member. The former Helen Virginia Carpenter was born November 13, 1913, in Rock Island, the daughter of William Russell and Nellie (Ryder) Carpenter. She married Herman Johnson on March 15, 1930, in Rock Island County. He died in 1983. She loved to cook, play Bingo, and play cards with her family and friends. Helen is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Gene Clement of Apopka, Florida; a sister, Hazel Morris of Davenport; sisters-in-law, Patricia Carpenter and Elsie Olson, both of Rock Island, and several nieces and nephews.
