Helen R. Jackson, 91, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, in the Lighthouse at Silvis, Silvis, Illinois.

Services are 1 p.m. Friday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Robb McCoy officiating. Private burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

The former Helen Ruth Reamy was born April 24, 1919, in Lakenan, Missouri, the daughter of Thomas Baldwin and Corean Butler Reamy. She married Alvin S. Jackson on March 16, 1941, in Monroe City, Missouri. He died August 1, 1990. She was a self-employed seamstress and tailor, and made custom wedding and birthday cakes. She enjoyed sewing and knitting, and was well known for knitting hundreds of stocking caps for many local charities. Prior to her marriage she was a country school teacher. She was a former board member of the Rock Island County Home Extension service, and a member of Riverside United Methodist Church, Moline.

Helen is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann McCauley and her husband Gary of Chanhassen, Minnesota, and Janet Sutten of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; four grandchildren and their spouses, Julia and Steve Rubin, Jennifer and Todd Schneider, Jeffrey and Erin Jackson, and Jason Sutten; a sister, Mary Frances Brengle of Shelbina, Missouri; and a brother and sister-in-law, John and Sue Reamy of Moline. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Julius ?Jack? Jackson; and brothers, Glen and Robert Reamy.
