Helen Kleinau

Helen M. Kleinau, 90, of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

Services are 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2767 9^th Street, Rock Island.  Visitation is from 12:30 p.m. until time of services.  The family will also greet friends at a funeral luncheon immediately following services until 4:00 p.m. in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12^th Street, Moline.  Private burial is in Rock Island Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

The former Helen Mae Dusenbery was born October 4, 1933, in Andalusia, Illinois, the daughter of William Jennings Bryant and Ruth (Fox) Dusenbery.  She married John Kleinau on November 4, 1950, in Rock Island.  He died April 23, 1992.

Helen’s passion was gardening and flowers.  She enjoyed fishing and feeding the birds.  Above all else, family was the most important thing to Helen, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She also loved her many pets over the years.

Helen is survived by three children and their spouses, Sheryl (Kevin) Keller of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, Richard (Sharon) Kleinau of Washington, Iowa, and Melissa (Eugene) Tubbs of Colona, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Joanna (Brent) Ayers, Dawn (Matt) Kruse, James (Amanda) Kleinau, Emily (Michael) Murphey, Zachary Carr, Alex Carr, Matthew Keller, and Christopher (Danielle) Keller; 11 great-grandchildren; and her cat, SoCo.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her great-grandson, Kevin Kruse; and siblings, Orville, Sonny, Delbert, and Wayne Dusenbery, Betty Doyle, and Carol Fulscher.
