East Moline, Illinois Helen J. Carson, 85, of East Moline, died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, in Heartland Health Care Center, Moline. Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. The Reverend Frank Langholf, Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline, will officiate. Burial is in National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. The former Helen Jenny-Alma Hartkemeyer was born June 24, 1916, in Luzurne, Iowa, the daughter of Christian and Ida (Kubite) Hartkemeyer. She married George E. Carson on August 3, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He died January 15, 1981. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline, and a fifty-year member of the Moline Vikings and East End Club. She and her husband enjoyed dancing and playing cards, and she enjoyed reading. Helen is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Mary Carson of Moline, Donald and Marlo Carson of Andover, and James and Susan Carson of Moline; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Edith Lisle and Ardith Sidel, both of Marion, Iowa, and a brother Duane Hartkemeyer of St Augustine, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three sisters, Lillian, Dolores, and Ruby, and two brothers, Walter and Darrel.
