Heidi L. Basten

Heidi L. Basten, 58, of Milan, Illinois, died Monday, April 30, 2018, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City.

A luncheon and balloon release to celebrate Heidi's life will be Noon on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the Rock Island Boat Club. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home.

The former Heidi Lynn Garrett was born May 11, 1959, in Bountiful, Utah, the daughter of Delbert and JoAnn Garrett. She enjoyed gardening, getting her nails done, and was an avid Chicago Cubs' fan. Above all else, she enjoyed being with her grandchildren.

Heidi is survived by two daughters, Sheri Turner, and Mindy (Paul Stoltenberg) Turner of Aledo, Illinois; six grandchildren; her mother, JoAnn; her fiancé, Chuck Brock of Milan; and siblings, Del, Cliff, Bonnie, and Steve Garrett, and Janice Albertonie. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Basten; her father, Del Garrett; and a grandson, Johnathon Appleby.
