Harvey Kent, 94, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, November 2, 2006, in Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.
Services are 9:30 a.m. Monday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Pastor Douglas R. Schoonover, Chaplain of Trinity Pathway Hospice, will officiate. Burial is in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton, Iowa. Moline Lodge 1014, AF & AM, will conduct Masonic funeral services at 2:30 p.m. Sunday with visitation to follow until 6 p.m. Memorials may be made to Shriner?s Crippled Childrens Hospitals.
Mr. Kent was born March 2, 1912, in Newton, Iowa, the son of Charles Monroe and Josie Belle (Nation) Kent. He graduated from Newton High School in 1929. He married Marian Einfeldt on October 12, 1971, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was employed at International Harvester East Moline Works for 37 years, retiring as Assistant General Foreman in the Welding Department in 1972. After retirement, he worked at Butterworth Center, Moline, for 15 years, and then volunteered at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island, for 10 years.
Harvey was a member of Moline Lodge #1014, AF & AM; Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Moline; Kaaba Shrine Temple; Blackhawk Shrine Club; Svithoid Club, Moline Vikings, IH Retirees, Plus 60 Club, and AARP. He was a handyman who could do anything, and enjoyed upholstery, stained glass, and making birdhouses.
Harvey is survived by his wife, Marian, his sister, Beulah Knapp of Clarion, Iowa; and Marian?s siblings and their spouses, Evelyn Johnson of Moscow, Iowa, Wayne and Eva Einfeldt of Wilton, Iowa, and Robert and Dolores Einfeldt of Durant, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters, and two brothers-in-law, Harry and Leo Einfeldt.
