Harrison C. Pulsifer, 90, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, March 8, 2012, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
A Time of Sharing Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Private burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ?Harrison Pulsifer Tribute Fund? at alz.org or the National Kidney Foundation at kidney.org.
Harrison Cantlion Pulsifer was born October 23, 1921, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, the youngest of four children born to Harry Benjamin and Sarah (Cantlion) Pulsifer.
He was a WWII veteran and served on the USS Solar for the United States Navy. He retired from the Rock Island Arsenal as a Metallurgical Engineer but also taught and served as Department Chairman at Black Hawk College, and worked as an Engineer for many other companies earlier in his career. He was a 50-plus year member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
He was a loving father and a caring man that found joy in teaching, photography, music and flying.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Sharon Pulsifer of Moline, with whom he had four children, Vicki Moser and her husband Jay, of Cincinnati, John Pulsifer of Chicago, Illinois, Douglas Pulsifer of Boston, Massachusetts, and Roy Pulsifer of Moline.
