Harold W. Miller, 88, of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 25, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial is in Western Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.
Harold W. Miller was born November 1, 1934, in Lisbon, Iowa to Charles W. and Nellie (Russell)
Miller. Some of the happiest days of his life were on March 27, 1982, when he married June (Musson) Juhl, the birth of their two children, Nels and Torine Miller, and the birth of their grandson. He was a creative, honest, wonderful, gracious, and intelligent person.
He was a Millwright out of the Millwright and Technical Engineers local 2158 working at nuclear power plants and other jobs. He and his wife formed four corporations and ran businesses: Scrub Pub of Bettendorf, Bettendorf Arcade, Machine Design, Inc., Enterprize, Inc., and farmed.
Harold volunteered for the Army Corp of Engineers, spending time in the Southern Pacific Scrub as an electrician building bridges.
He loved working in the machine shop, creating, spent many years working on the family farms with his brother, Carroll, and taking care of his mother . He had a pilot’s license and loved horses and travel.
Harold is survived by his wife of 40 years, June; children, Nels Miller of Prophetstown, Illinois, Torine and Chuck Miller of LaClede, Missouri; and a grandson, Ace. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Iola Irwin, Charlene Cook, Everett Miller, Carroll Miller, Norma Collins, and LuVerna Greene.
