Harold D. Fisher, 91, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Marigold Rehabilitation & Health Care, Galesburg, Illinois.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where the Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Harold was born January 4, 1926, in Phillipsburg, Missouri, the son of Warren and Ora (Haugh) Fisher. He served in the 10th Mountain Division of the U.S. Army during World War II, earning two bronze stars. He married Betty Lee Moore on May 23, 1947, in Boone County, Arkansas. She died June 13, 2002.
He was a cement finisher for Local 454. He enjoyed antiques, gardening, and refinishing furniture.
Harold is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Natalie Fisher of Stratford, Connecticut; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Scott Hershman of Rock Island; grandchildren, Jennifer (Joseph) Purcell of Coal Valley, Eric (Andrea) Riley of Davenport, Chad (Andrea) Fisher and Jarrod (Carly) Fisher, both of Connecticut, Trevor (Linda) Fisher of Sweden, and Zach Hershman of Texas; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bonnie Masey of Springfield, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers, and three sisters.
