John H. Hansen, 99, of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, October 7, 2007, in Rosewood Care Center, Moline.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline. Visitation is one hour before the services.
John Henry Hansen was born June 10, 1908, in Gilchrist, Illinois, the son of John and Gertrude (Siemon) Hansen. He married Laura Nelson on June 30, 1934, in Rockford, Illinois. She died December 7, 1983. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the South Pacific during WW II.
John was manager of the men?s department at J. C. Penney?s downtown Moline store for 15 years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of the Moline Elks Lodge #556 since 1946, an avid Chicago Cubs fan, a golfer, and a sports enthusiast.
John is survived by his niece and her husband, Barbara and Frank Donovan of Bettendorf, Iowa.
