Gregory A. Beard

Gregory Beard, 69, of Davenport, Iowa, died Saturday, September 17, 2022, in Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport.

Visitation is 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. A time of sharing and prayer service will follow at 2 p.m. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory.

Gregory Allen Beard was born December 20, 1952, in Davenport, to Dale Allen and Mary Elizabeth (McInerney) Beard. He married Debra Mentzer on June 17, 1985, in Davenport. He worked at MidAmerican Energy for 47 years, retiring in 2020. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, enjoyed motorcycles, classic cars, and animals, especially dogs and birds.

Greg is survived by his wife, Debra; three children and their spouses, Stephanie and Daniel Calhoun of Davenport, Joshua and Brianna Beard of Bettendorf, and Melissa and Scott Mapes of Atkinson, Illinois; nine grandchildren; and six siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Zachary Beard.
