Grace E. Catlett, 87, of Moline, Illinois, formerly of rural Coal Valley, Illinois, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016, in her home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley, with The Reverend Tim Snart officiating. Burial is in Beulah Cemetery, Orion. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Memorials may be made to the church.
The former Grace Elizabeth Warnock was born May 5, 1929, in Orion, Illinois, to Harper and Ruth (McWhinney) Warnock. She married David C. Catlett on December 1, 1948, in Orion. He died May 1, 1982. Her family was important to her. She was an avid quilter and a great cook, She was a deacon in the church, a member of the Women's Association of the church, and a member of Mississippi Valley Milk Producers Association, Illinois Brown Swiss Association, and Mississippi Valley Quilters Guild.
Grace is survived by five children and their spouses, Nancy and Scott Hedberg of Ann Arbor, Michigan, David K. and Pam Catlett of Sherrard, Illinois, Ruth and Chaplain Rocky Schmied of Wichita, Kansas, Julie and Chaplain Don Anders of Windsor, Colorado, and Mark and Becky Catlett of Coal Valley; a son-in law, Ron Fargo of Coal Valley; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Deborah Fargo; a grandchild; and a sister, Lois Johnson.
