Francisca Gomez Slocum, 37, of Geneseo, Illinois, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, 516 Fillmore, Davenport, Iowa. Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. to funeral time. Memorials may be made to the Francisca Slocum Memorial Fund. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is assisting the family.
The former Francisca Gomez was born October 4, 1971, in Brownsville, Texas, the daughter of Edelmiro and Dolores (Aguirre) Gomez. She married Warren Slocum, which whom she had three children, William, Crystal, and Christine Slocum.
Francisca was athletic and hardworking. She was very devoted to her children. She was determined to excel in life, pursuing many educational avenues including receiving her Cosmetology License.
She is survived by her parents, children, three sisters, three brothers, many nieces and nephews, fiancé, Michael Anderson, and her best friend, Colleen Shaw. She was preceded in death by her brother, Victor Hugo Gomez.
