Milan, Illinois Graveside services for Gloria McMillan Edgar, 69, of Milan, are Friday afternoon at National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal. Family and friends are asked to meet at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, before 1:00 p.m. Friday to proceed together to the cemetery. There is no visitation. Memorials may be made to the family for a tree which will be planted in her name. Mrs. Edgar died Monday, February 17, 2003, in Illini Hospital, Silvis. The former Gloria Mae McMillan was born August 3, 1933, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Harry A. and Edith (Miskell) McMillan. She married John Richard Edgar, a sergeant in the U. S. Army, on September 14, 1957, in Redwood City, California. He died February 28, 2000. She was a member of the Milan American Legion Auxiliary. She did volunteer work with various animal welfare groups. She loved animals, books, nature, and wildlife conservation. Gloria is survived by a daughter, Kate Edgar and her special friend Colleen Fox of Rock Island, and a brother and sister-in-law, Don and Lynn McMillan of Placerville, California.
