Glenn G. Bustard, 86, of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006, in Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley, Illinois.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at Union Congregational Church, Moline, with The Reverend Kenneth Kuenning officiating. The family will greet friends at a luncheon in the church following the service. Private burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund of the church. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is assisting the family.
Glenn George Bustard was born June 28, 1919, in Alma, Colorado, the son of Earl and Elizabeth (Warren) Bustard. He married Marilynn Sill on July 25, 1942, in Moline. He was a toolmaker at AMETEC prior to joining the U. S. Navy and serving in WW II. Following the war, he joined his family business, and owned and operated Bustard?s Apple House in Moline for 40 years.
Glenn was an active member of Union Congregational Church, Moline, and the Men?s Fellowship of the church, and had formerly been a Boy Scout leader, coached youth baseball teams, was active in the Rock Island County Farm Bureau, and a member of the Quadwranglers Square Dance Club. He loved his family, and enjoyed camping, fishing and boating.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marilynn; four children and their spouses, Thomas and Donna Bustard of Byrdstown, Tennessee, Nancy Freece of Melbourne, Florida, James and Julie Bustard of Rock Island, and Kathleen and Orlando Vallejo of Moline; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Bustard.
