Glen A. "Big Glen" Davis

Glen E. "Big Glen" Davis, 59, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Tuesday, July 4, 2017, peacefully at home.

A luncheon to celebrate Glen's life will be Noon to 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017, at the Rock Island Moose Lodge #190, 4410 9th Street, Rock Island. Friends are invited to bring a dish to share. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home.

Glen was born August 26, 1957, in Moline, the son of Wendal and Ella (Bush) Davis. He graduated from Winola High School in 1975, and continued his education at the Denver Diesel and Automotive College in Denver, Colorado. He married Victoria Shaw on October 22, 1977, in Roseville, Illinois.

He was a mechanic for 35 years, working at Kenworth Diesel in Milan, Louis Lakis in Galesburg, Overfield Standard in Moline, Penske Auto in Moline and Waterloo, Iowa, and Hughes Tire in Milan and Moline.

Some of Glen's favorite things were riding motorcycles, bowling, traveling, football, basketball, and grilling in his backyard. Most of all, he loved being with his wife, children, and especially his grandchildren.

Glen is survived by his beloved wife of 39-years, Vicki; children, Destiny Davis, Allen Davis, and Glen "Gene" Davis, Jr., all of Rock Island; grandchildren, DeMari Craig, Isabella Dawson, Mackayla Riley, and Liela Davis; his mother, Ella J. Davis of Rock Island; and siblings, Richard Davis of Milan, Joan Pippinger, David Davis, and Sam (Kris) Davis, all of Rock Island, Jeanie (Dwayne) Matson of Minnesota, and Cindy Fuller of Missouri. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Margie Lynn.
