Gladys L. Ricketts

Aledo, Illinois Funeral Services for Gladys L. Ricketts, 94, of Aledo will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at 10:30 AM at Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo. The Rev. John Crede will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Aledo Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mercer County Nursing Home or the Aledo United Methodist Church. Gladys died on Saturday, March 31, 2001 at the Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo. Gladys was born on December 9, 1906 in Keithsburg, Illinois to Arthur and Jessie (Harrison) Boruff. She married Charles Ricketts on December 19, 1925 in Keithsburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 30, 1972. Gladys was a member of the Aledo United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star and the former Jolly Neighborhood Club. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and especially spending time with her family. Gladys is survived by a son and daughter-in-law; Alan and Bonnie Ricketts of Aledo; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Robert Peterson of Joliet, IL; and a son-in-law, Donald Rose of Aledo; a sister-in-law, Edith Boruff of Tennessee; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Alyce Rose; a sister, Opal Tweed and a brother, William Boruff. END OF OBITUARY
