Anna Gertrude Eichstaedt, 91, of Moline, Illinois, died Friday, February 6, 2009, in Rosewood Care Center, Moline. Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel of Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Dr. Donald Jackson officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Moline.
Anna Gertrude Eichstaedt was born May 15, 1917, in Moline, the daughter of Richard and Anna May (Simmon) Eichstaedt. She graduated from Knox College and worked at Deere & Co. in the Research Lab as a Metallurgist. She later worked in the libraries at Marycrest College and the Moline Public Library.
Gert enjoyed stars, gardening, rock hounding, and was a great dog lover. Her biggest love was for the Southwest and it?s artwork and pottery.
She is survived by a nephew and his wife, Dick and Mary Ellen Carlson of Geneseo, Illinois; nieces, Sam Dalin and her husband Mike of Geneseo, and Deb Owens of Moline; grandnieces, Jennifer and her husband David, and Amy Wilson; grandnephews and their wives, Robert and Katherine Dalin, and Matt and Laura Wilson; two great-grandnephews; and one great-grandniece. She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Carlson Swisher.
