Gerald L. “Jerry” Anderson

Gerald L. “Jerry” Anderson, 67, of Silvis, Illinois, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, in his residence.

Prayers are 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, followed by a Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. Saturday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, with Rev. Donald L. Levitt officiating. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with a Wake Service at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Believers Together, the American Lung Association, or the National Kidney Foundation.

Gerald Leon Anderson was born January 10, 1939, in Moline, to Frank and Elsie (Pollentier) Anderson. He graduated from Alleman High School in Rock Island in 1956. He was employed for 30-1/2 years at Case-I.H, retiring in 1987. He married Carol Stipp on August 1, 1959,, at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, East Moline.

He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Gerald loved coaching and watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He enjoyed the outdoors and working in his yard or golfing with his friends.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Carol; his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Scott Dasso of East Moline; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Karen Anderson of Geneseo, Richard and Julie Anderson of Lenexa, Kansas, and Robert Anderson of Charlotte, North Carolina; and his grandchildren, Kara Dasso of East Moline, Mikala and Colton Anderson of Lenexa, and Alex and Audrey Anderson of Geneseo. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Simonich of Fort Collins, Colorado, and a special friend of the family, Patricia Bechtold of Charlotte. He was preceded in death by his parents.
