Gerald H. Allen, 75, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Thursday, July 26, 2007, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.

Services are 10 a.m. Monday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Ed Kuriscak, Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island, officiating. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Melanoma Research Program at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Gerald Harvey Allen was born January 10, 1932, in Moline, the son of Harvey and Elsie (Bjorling) Allen. He served in the U. S. Army. He married Ruth Long on February 13, 1954, in Moline. She died in 1981. He married Aceine Sherwood Bledsoe on January 10, 1982, in Rock Island. He was a pattern maker for various job shops, retiring from Voss Pattern Company, Davenport, in 1997.

He was a member of the Moline Viking Lodge, was an avid golfer, a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, and enjoyed fishing and traveling.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Aceine; two children and their spouses, Debi and John Markin of Rock Island, and Scott and Kathy Allen of Moline; four step-children, Kathy Cole of Rock Island, Brian Bledsoe of Fort Collins, Colorado, Kelly Clark and her husband Buster of Rock Island, and Robert Bledsoe of Loveland, Colorado; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his brother and sister-in-law, John and Annabelle Allen of College Station, Texas.
